Jumper’s EZbook X3 Air has a sleek design, a great display and a decent price, but it does have some issues with Jumper’s EZbook X3 Air battery life and speakers. Not everyone has the money to spend around £1,000 on a laptop these days, and if you’re looking to buy an affordable laptop, it can be hard to know which is a good deal. If you want something that’s sleek and lightweight, then Jumper’s EZbook Air X3 might interest you.
Jumper isn’t as much of a household name as some other laptop manufacturers, but it is well-known for its relatively affordable prices. The EZbook Air X3 is one of the newest offerings on the market, but does it perform as well as it looks? Read on for my full review.
Design and Build
The exterior is finished in aluminium, which gives it a pretty premium feel. I really like the colour of this laptop, which Jumper calls ‘Mocha Brown’. It’s a nice metallic shade that looks professional and sophisticated, rather than the usual silver or black. It’s the only colour option for this laptop. The laptop comes with dual speakers on the bottom. While the highs are pretty clear, the bass is almost non-existent, which makes music sound quite tinny. Additionally, when the volume is turned up past 50 percent, the sound vibrates through the entire keyboard, creating a lot of feedback, and the feedback gets worse as the speakers are turned up.
For those working from home and using Zoom calls, the Jumper EZbook X3 Air comes with a webcam and built-in microphone—the former is located on a prominent notch at the top of the display so it doesn’t obscure the beautiful big screen. Specs and Performance
This is a budget laptop, so you shouldn’t expect much power in terms of performance. The EZbook X3 Air is powered by an Intel Celeron N4100 (Gemini Lake) processor, a chip that’s only found in cheaper laptops. It’s paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. That’s the only spec option you can get right now. However, if you need more memory, the SSD slot supports up to 1TB of expandable memory.
One of the biggest downsides to Jumper’s EZbook X3 Air is battery life. It barely managed 5 hours and 30 minutes in our internal EZbook X3 Air battery test, with real-world usage between 4 and 5 hours, even with power saving mode. I didn’t need to charge it even after half a day of use.
This laptop also uses the more old-school pin-style charging method, but that doesn’t mean it charges faster. The laptop charged 34% in 30 minutes when powered off. Basically, if you plan on using this laptop all day, make sure you have access to a power outlet to charge it at least half of the time.
Software-wise, you get standard Windows 10, so the OS is very easy to navigate and set up
