DJI claims the Avata 2 offers better durability and power than its predecessor, while being 1.06 ounces / 30 grams lighter. Without the DJI Avata 2 battery, which is surprisingly light, it remains to be seen how well it can withstand repeated collisions, although the option to use the built-in obstacle detection and avoidance feature could go a long way toward avoiding such accidents. It’s perhaps worth mentioning that this drone was never designed to be a freestyle FPV drone – it’s still a cinewhoop with a pipe.
In the UK, operators can fly the Avata 2 using high-definition goggles, as long as there is an observer nearby who can keep the drone in sight at all times.
