Samsung confirmed the upcoming timeline for One UI 7, based on Android 15, during its keynote at the annual Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. See details.

One UI 7 will be Samsung’s way of bringing Android 15 to its Galaxy series, and the rollout of Android 15 has seemed to be slow. The new Pixels didn’t launch with it, and while we usually expect Samsung to be busy with its own public beta program, nothing has happened so far. Today, Samsung confirmed that the One UI 7 beta will still be available, but didn’t provide a more precise estimated timeline other than telling us it will be available sometime before the end of 2024.
A post on Ice Universe on X claims that Samsung isn’t ready for One UI 7 yet and it won’t be released for “a long time.” He didn’t reveal a specific timeline, though.
Among other improvements, One UI 7 is expected to bring more AI features to the default gallery app. AI-powered search is one of the features mentioned. The expected release date of Samsung’s Android 15 update has been in flux for months. At one point, it was thought that the One UI 7 beta would arrive much earlier than usual, but that expectation quickly passed due to delays reportedly occurring within Samsung. More recently, Samsung was said to have delayed the update “indefinitely.”
Today at SDC, Samsung confirmed that its One UI 7 beta with Android 15 will be “rolling out to developers before the end of the year.”
