The Yoga 7 14 Gen 9 is a great value for the money. In our application and graphics benchmarks, it was on par with the similarly configured and priced Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 7445 and the more expensive Yoga 9i 14 Gen 9, which is based on an Intel Core Ultra chip.
If you want more performance than the Yoga 7 14 Gen 9 can offer, upgrading to the Yoga 9i 14 Gen 9 isn’t the answer—at least not until Lenovo’s Intel-based flagship 2-in-1 is updated with Core Ultra Series 2 CPUs. life, as the clamshell Asus Zenbook S 14 demonstrated in testing. The Yoga 7 14 Gen 9 can’t match the Asus Zenbook S 14 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon X-based Microsoft Surface Pro 11 in terms of Yoga 7 14 Gen 9 battery life, but it still lasted for more than 12 hours in our YouTube streaming battery drain test. That’s an impressive runtime, and 3.5 hours longer than the Yoga 9i 14 Gen 9 managed in the same test. The Yoga 7’s longer runtime is partly due to its lower-resolution IPS display, compared to the Yoga 9i’s higher-resolution display. But the difference in display technology and resolution doesn’t fully explain the 3.5-hour gap, instead pointing to the efficiency of the Yoga 7’s Ryzen 8000-series chip.

Its brighter display and lighter weight make it a better choice than Dell’s similar Inspiron 2-in-1 7445, and its lower price and longer runtime make it a better choice for most people than Lenovo’s flagship Yoga 9i 14 Gen 9.
