We’re just a few hours away from DJI’s event in Beijing, where the company is expected to showcase their latest drone , the Mini 2. Ahead of the event, the DJI Fly app has been updated to support the DJI Mini 2, including various images of the yet-to-be-announced drone.
About APK Insight: In this “APK Insight” article, we decompile the latest versions of apps uploaded to the Play Store by developers. When we decompile these files (called APKs in Android applications), we are able to see various lines of code within them that hint at possible future functionality. Please keep in mind that these features may or may not be released, and our interpretation of them may not be perfect. However, we will try to enable those projects that are nearing completion to show you how they will look once delivered. With that in mind, read on.

Ahead of tonight’s event, the DJI Fly app has received an update specifically for both Android and iOS versions, with the updated release notes mentioning ” DJI Mini 2 ” twice and even revealing some of the new drone’s features. Exclusive features like “Quick Transfer”.
Support DJI Mini 2.
Added quick transfer function. Connect your phone and airplane via Wi-Fi and transfer files from airplane to phone at speeds up to 20 MB/s.
Added photo enhancement features. After downloading the photo, the application automatically enhances the image quality of the photo.
Add trim download function. Trim desired clips from video files and download them.
(The above functions are only compatible with DJI Mini 2)
Fixed some issues and optimized the overall quality of the application.
But digging deeper, we found that the app contains various pictures of the DJI Mini 2 from various angles and its remote control. The app uses these images to help new buyers set up their new drones and teach how to calibrate the sensors.
DJI Mini 2 and remote control pictures

The first photo, part of the “Beginner’s Guide,” shows the DJI Mini 2 in flight, along with information on where to find things like the USB-C port and microSD card slot. The next few photos of the DJI Mini 2 show the drone in its folded position taken from multiple angles, and the app walks you through the IMU calibration process.

Another set is used to guide compass calibration, showing several angles with the Mini 2 unfolded. Finally, we find a front-on photo of the remote, showing a very different design to the Mavic Mini controller, which holds the phone underneath the controller instead of above it.
