We’ve heard a lot about the flagship phones we may or may not see from OnePlus this year, mostly referring to the standard OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Ultra. But now it looks like we might not see either of those, with the launch of the OnePlus 10T instead.
So far, the phone appears to be positioned as a slightly lower-end phone than the OnePlus 10 Pro, so it could end up being the OnePlus 10 for everything but the name. However, leaks suggest it has the Pro’s edge in at least one area — charging speeds — and it’s also possible that it has a better chipset.
Below we detail everything we’ve heard about the OnePlus 10T so far:
OnePlus 10T release date and price
So far, a real release date rumour points to the OnePlus 10T landing in July, although that seems to be early for the T model and very close to the OnePlus 10 Pro launch, so we think August or September is more likely.
There’s no word on the phone’s price, but the same source claims it’s positioned between the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10R, which means it’ll be slightly less expensive than the Pro.
While there’s some uncertainty about the 10T’s actual location, there’s some evidence that it might have better specs than the OnePlus 10 Pro — and possibly all but the OnePlus 10 Ultra by name. In this case, its price may be higher.
Oneplus 10T design and display
A major leak of the OnePlus 10T has revealed a number of spec details, including images that give us an idea of the phone’s likely design.
One of the massive camera blocks stretches across the entire width of the rear – albeit only two-thirds of the way to the left, while the front has a flat-screen camera with fairly narrow bezels and a punch hole. You can also see power and volume buttons on the right edge, but no alert slider.
The same source also revealed that the OnePlus 10T apparently has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Another leaker also listed these exact screen specs. The second leaker thinks the phone will launch as the OnePlus 10, but they’re apparently talking about the same phone.
Based on all of this, the design and display seem to be a slight step down from the OnePlus 10 Pro, which has a QHD+ curved screen and possibly slightly smaller bezels.
OnePlus 10T camera and battery
According to a leak, the OnePlus 10T has a triple-lens camera on the rear consisting of a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. It can apparently also record video in up to 4K quality at up to 60fps. Meanwhile, a 32MP camera on the front is said to be capable of recording 1080p at 30fps.
The same list of camera specs has been revealed by another source before, so there’s a good chance it’s accurate.
That said, a third source pointed to slightly different camera specs, saying it’s expected to feature a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor, 8MP and 2MP secondary sensors, and a front-facing 16MP camera.
As for the battery, the same three sources say it has a 4,800mAh battery with 150W charging. That’s an incredible amount of charging power, and would beat the OnePlus 10 Pro — despite the smaller battery size here, and the 10T’s apparent lack of wireless charging as well.
OnePlus 10T specs and features
There is some uncertainty as to which chipset the OnePlus 10 Pro will use, with sources claiming it could use either the Dimensity 9000 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus.
These are high-end chipsets, which are even better than the ones in the OnePlus 10 Pro.
Beyond that, we’ve heard that the OnePlus 10T could come with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage, and Android 12 overlaid with OxygenOS 12. There’s also talk of an in-display fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers — neither of which is surprising.
