Lenovo has unveiled the S2, a full-featured, affordable smartwatch. The Lenovo S2 features a 1.4-inch touchscreen, a real-time heart rate monitor, and a Lenovo S2 Smart Watch battery life that’s claimed to last up to seven days. Lenovo may be best known for its smartphones, tablets, and computers, but it also makes smartwatches. An example of the latter is now readily available in Europe, and it’s also very affordable.
The Lenovo S2 is pretty bare-bones in the sense that it lacks LTE, GPS, and Wi-Fi connectivity. However, it communicates with smartphones via Bluetooth, supporting up to the 4.2 standard. In addition, the smartwatch has a 1.4-inch display, and Lenovo claims it’s water-resistant up to 3 ATM. The display has a native resolution of 240 x 240 pixels and features a touchscreen, and Lenovo has included a button on the right side of the body.
The watch itself is 9.9 mm thick and weighs about 50 grams. Lenovo claims the S2 can last up to seven days on a single charge thanks to its 180 mAh Lenovo S2 battery. However, we estimate that the battery life will be reduced if the smartwatch’s heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, pedometer, or remote camera are enabled.
The Lenovo S2 also has nine sports modes and can sync with your smartphone to display its notifications. According to Lenovo, the S2 should work with both Android and iOS devices.
