The Apple Watch is a premium kit that offers a full smartwatch experience, but it can’t compete with Garmin’s outdoor alternatives that focus on more durable, rugged designs — but the new Apple Watch could change that Version.

Leaks and rumors suggest that Apple is hard at work on a new Apple Watch that’s built for the outdoors, with a more durable case, a bigger display, and maybe even an increase in the standard 18-hour battery life. Rumor has it that it will be released alongside the Apple Watch Series 8 in the coming months.

Here’s everything you need to know about the rugged Apple Watch, including the latest release date, pricing, and feature rumors.

What will the rugged Apple Watch be called?
Through leaks, we know Apple is working on a rugged Apple Watch behind closed doors at Apple Park, but when it comes to branding, that’s anyone’s guess.

Most leakers have been referring to the Apple Watch by its main feature — its ruggedness — rather than its official name. The Apple Watch Explorer Edition has been a popular choice in the past and has recently evolved into the Apple Watch Rugged Edition.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that it will be called the Apple Watch Pro, which does make sense. Not only is it rumored to be more feature-rich than the standard Apple Watch Series 8, but it’s also a brand that Apple uses on just about every other product line, from iPhones to iPads to Macs and even AirPods.

It’s entirely possible, however, that Apple has gone the other way entirely – we’ll just have to wait and see.

When will the rugged Apple Watch be released?
Rumor has it that the rugged Apple Watch will debut alongside the new Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE.

There aren’t any solid rumors of a release date yet, but based on previous releases that have traditionally been released every September, we’re expecting a September 2022 release.

What to Expect from the Apple Watch Rugged Edition
As the name suggests, the rugged Apple Watch will provide a more durable experience, tailored for those who spend a lot of time outdoors, with improved case durability, a larger display, and possibly the first ever This improves the standard 18-hour battery life.

Durable Design
With the “rugged” moniker all over the place and its supposed focus on extreme sports, it’s no surprise that the rugged Apple Watch is said to be more durable than the standard Apple Watch.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that the chassis of the Rugged Edition will be made of a stronger metal than aluminum, but the exact metal used has not been announced. It might use the same stainless steel as more premium variants of the Apple Watch, or it could opt for an entirely new material. We’ll have to wait and see now.

bigger display
Although Apple only recently added the Apple Watch’s display to the Series 7, jumping from 40mm and 44mm to 41mm and 45mm respectively, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the rugged Apple Watch will benefit from a much larger size Larger displays on other products. Series 8 collection.

Per Gurman said the rugged Apple Watch will feature a 2-inch display, compared to the 1.9-inch display on the current and upcoming flagship models. While that might not sound like much, rumor has it that the extra screen real estate could be used to display more metrics during a workout, which is one of the main features of the sturdy model.

It also boasts a slightly higher resolution than the standard watch, at 410 x 502 compared to the standard 396 x 484 of the larger 45mm Series 7. So while it’s not going to be too big, it’s safe to assume that the rugged Apple Watch, which is released later this year, will have a slightly larger display.

Improve battery life
The bigger display should come with a larger internal battery, which should extend battery life to over 18 hours for the first time ever.

While no specifics were provided, Gurman believes the rugged Apple Watch will outlast the rest of the Apple Watch lineup, further adding to its “rugged outdoor” focus, where users may not be able to charge the watch more than once a day.

We’re not expecting true multi-day battery life like some Android alternatives, but if we could see 24-48 hours of full usage, that would be a huge achievement and would undoubtedly attract tempted consumers By.
