The 360 Vis Nav is Dyson’s first robot vacuum to be released in the U.S. in nearly a decade, following the tall, round 360 Eye in 2016. The 2020 360 Heurist is only available in Canada, China, and Europe. In keeping with the Dyson aesthetic, the 360 Vis Nav comes in a bright color scheme called “Blue/Nickel,” though we think the hue of the polycarbonate shell that covers most of the top and sides is more purple than blue. It’s D-shaped with one flat side, similar to the excellent Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni Hybrid ($1,499.99) and robot vacuums from the now-discontinued Neato brand. lasted 58 minutes, which pales in comparison to the 113 minutes of runtime of the Roomba j9+ in its corresponding mode. The 360 Vis Nav didn’t always fully clean my 1,500-square-foot two-bedroom apartment on a single charge, while the Roomba j9+ was able to cover 1.5 times my entire floor in the battery stress test. I ran the 360 Vis Nav in automatic mode for most of my testing. It took a long time to complete its first clean of my room, as the Dyson Replacement Vacuum Cleaner Battery died after 50 minutes, and it wasn’t done yet. As with mapping, it got lost while trying to return to its base, but found its way again when I went to check it in the app. It then charged for 40 minutes and finished in about 20 minutes. Overall, the first run took 109 minutes, far exceeding the 73 minutes the Roomba j9+ took to clean the same space. It also seemed to miss large parts of my bedroom, with the room’s heat map looking misplaced in the run history page.
