The Quick Start feature allows you to put your system to sleep and continue where you left off. However, fast startup may prevent your laptop from shutting down properly. Therefore, you must shut down your laptop before you can disable the built-in battery in BIOS.
Right-click the Start button and select Run.

Restart your system, and when you see the Lenovo logo, press and hold F2 to enter the BIOS.

Press F10, select Yes in the confirmation window and exit BIOS.

Power off the laptop, remove the power adapter and place it on a flat, non-conductive surface.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the five screws holding the bottom in place. Use a pry bar to carefully remove the bottom of the laptop.
Remove the six 4.4 mm M2 x L flat head screws holding the battery in place and gently pull out the Lenovo laptop battery.
Place the new battery in the same location and secure it with the six thumbscrews removed earlier.
Put it back on the bottom and secure it with the five screws removed initially. Final Thoughts
