If you want the latest and greatest Android phone, then the Samsung Galaxy S7 or LG G5 might be the way to go. Both phones will be available this spring, and both have the highest specs and features you could ever want in a smartphone. The big question is, which one should you buy? We’re going to make your decision easier with our in-depth comparison of these two powerful phones. Samsung Galaxy S7 Battery 3,000 mAh,LG G5 Battery2,800 mAh
The bottom of the LG G5 pops out like a drawer to reveal the battery. Changing the battery is just the tip of the iceberg: There are two optional modules to choose from at launch – the Cam Plus and the Hi-Fi Plus – with more coming soon.
The Cam Plus module gives you a better grip when taking photos, and turns the G5 into a more traditional camera by adding physical buttons for power, shutter, video recording, and zoom. It also comes with a 1,200mAh LG G5 battery
, which extends the life of the original 2,800mAhLG G5 battery in the phone. Designed for audio connoisseurs, the Hi-Fi Plus module supports 32-bit, 284KHz high-definition audio playback. Design-wise, the Galaxy S7 is very similar to the Galaxy S6, save for a few minor changes. For example, the rear camera bump isn’t noticeable. Like last year’s Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S7 has a metal frame and glass back. It’s also a unibody design, but you can’t remove or replace the module. Samsung has made great strides in terms of comfort, and its new phones are easier to hold than last year’s phones, especially the Galaxy S7 Edge. Last year’s Edge was really beautiful, but it was very uncomfortable in the hand. This year, the difference is simply worlds apart. We almost prefer the Edge to the standard S7, both of which fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. It’s also very well designed and water-resistant, which we’ll get to later. If there’s one clear advantage the Galaxy S7 has, it’s the IP68 environmental rating, which means it can survive being submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes and can withstand a dust intrusion (or a trip to the beach). Water resistance was a feature on the Galaxy S5 that was largely missing in the Galaxy S6, and we’re glad Samsung has brought it back. Both the Galaxy S7 and G5 are powered by the same processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. This is a quad-core chip made up of a dual-core 2.15GHz Kryo CPU and a dual-core 1.6GHz Kryo CPU. Both phones also come with 4GB of RAM.
Since the processors are the same, we don’t expect to see noticeable differences between the two phones, so software is key. One phone may be slightly slower or slightly faster, depending on how well the additional software is tuned. Samsung’s TouchWiz has had issues in the past, but it continues to improve every year.
The capacity is 3,000mAh, while the Galaxy S7 Edge has a 3,500mAh Samsung Smartphone battery; the G5 has a 2,800mAhLG Smartphone battery. Samsung leads by 7% in terms of size, which doesn’t seem like much, but let’s face it: every little bit helps. The Galaxy S7 also has an AMOLED screen, and Samsung has developed a special liquid cooling system to help keep the system cool, both of which are likely to have a positive impact on overall Smartphone Battery life,
The advantage of the LG G5, however, is that it comes with a removable battery. This means you can carry a spare LG G5 battery without having to worry about running out of power. This will cost extra, though. We don’t know how much the spare batteries will cost yet, or whether they’ll be easy to get. Samsung is launching its own battery case, which can double your battery life.
Both phones support fast charging thanks to Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0, but Samsung also offers fast wireless charging. Wireless charging isn’t usually a deal-breaker, but it’s a nice option.
In terms of storage, both phones offer 32GB of storage, with the ability to add additional storage via the MicroSD slot.
For heavy users, the G5 is definitely more attractive. But if you don’t want to carry around a spare phone Galaxy S7 batterylike most people do, the Galaxy S7 is probably your best bet: it’s likely to last a bit longer on a single charge. When it comes to storage, neither phone has an advantage
