The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are the company’s new flagships, but these phones don’t appear to be major upgrades over the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Based on the specs now fully revealed, they appear to be iterative updates focused on polishing rather than overhauling the Pixel lineup.
But that doesn’t mean they’re not something to be excited about, as the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro may be Google‘s best phones ever, with upgraded cameras, powerful new chipsets, and refined designs. Below you’ll find all the key details about them, including specs, features, release date and pricing.
Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro release date and price
The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were announced on October 6 and are available for pre-order now. The phones will start shipping on October 13.
The Pixel 7 starts at $599/£599/AU$999, and you get 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The price rises to $699 / £699 / AU$1,129 for 256GB of storage, while RAM remains at 8GB.
The Pixel 7 Pro, meanwhile, starts at $899 / £849 / AU$1,299 and gets you 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Prices rise to $999/£949/AU$1,449 for 256GB of storage and $1,099/AU$1,599 for 512GB.
Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro design and display
The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro look a lot like the Pixel 6 phones, with the same unique camera visor on the back, but this time the visor is aluminum. The rest of the back is glass, and the Pixel 7 is available in Obsidian (black), Snow (white), or Lemongrass ( chartreuse ) shades, or Obsidian, Snow, or Hazel (gray, maybe with a hint of green) for the Pixel 7 Pro.
The sides are also aluminum, with a flat screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus up front and a hole-punch camera at the top center.
The Pixel 7 measures 155.6 x 73.2 x 8.7mm and 197g, while the Pixel 7 Pro measures 162.9 x 76.6 x 8.9mm and 212g. Both phones are IP68 rated, which means they are water and dust resistant. As for the screen, in the case of the Pixel 7, it’s a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2400 OLED panel with 416 pixels per inch and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.
The Pixel 7 Pro has a 6.7-inch 1440 x 3120 OLED screen with 512 pixels per inch, a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,500 nits.
Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro cameras
There’s a dual-lens camera on the Google Pixel 7, including a 50MP f/1.85 main camera with optical image stabilization and a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera with a 114-degree field of view. The phone also has a 10.8MP f/2.2 camera on the front, and you can record video in up to 4K quality at up to 60fps with either the front or rear camera.
The Google Pixel 7 Pro has the same main and ultra-wide cameras, plus a 48MP f/3.5 telephoto camera that offers 5x optical zoom. Its ultra-wide-angle camera also has a wider 125.8-degree field of view.
As you’d expect, there are also plenty of camera modes and features, such as Night and Portrait modes, Movie Blur, Photo Deblur, Magic Eraser, and Super Res Zoom.
In fact, with the Super Res Zoom feature, you can get close to 2x optical zoom quality from the Pixel 7, while the Pixel 7 Pro can go up to 10x and offer up to 30x digital zoom. There’s also a Guided Frame feature, which helps visually impaired people take selfies, using audio guidance, high-contrast visual animations, and haptic feedback. The Pixel 7 Pro also features a macro focus mode that lets you take high-quality photos from just 3cm away from your subject.
Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro battery
The Pixel 7 has a 4,355mAh battery with over 24 hours of standard battery life and up to 72 hours of battery life in Extreme Battery Saver mode. It charges at 30W, enough to provide 50% charge in around 30 minutes. The phone also supports wireless charging. With the Pixel 7 Pro, you get a 5,000mAh battery that offers the same longevity and charging speed according to Google’s specs.

Both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are powered by the Tensor G2 chipset. This is the second-generation chipset used in the Pixel 6 series, and Google says it allows machine learning to run 60 percent faster and 20 percent more efficiently than the previous generation. The Titan M2 security chip is added here to improve data security. Also on the security front, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will have free VPN access starting later this year. Both phones support 5G, stereo speakers, in-screen fingerprint scanners, and face unlock, and of course they run Android 13.
