Garmin has introduced the Tactix 8, a rugged smartwatch designed for use on land, in the air and at sea. This latest model includes new features for military personnel, outdoor enthusiasts and divers. Available in 47mm and 51mm sizes, the Tactix 8 meets military standards (MIL-STD-810) for heat, shock and water resistance. Life has been improved, with the 47mm model’s AMOLED display lasting up to 16 days in smartwatch mode and the solar-powered 51mm version lasting up to 48 days. The Tactix 8 includes dedicated backpack and diving activity profiles. The backpack feature allows users to enter backpack weights for more accurate activity tracking, which can also be applied to hiking and trail running.
For diving, the watch supports scuba and apnea activities, providing relevant data and navigation tools. The 40-meter submersible rating ensures underwater reliability.
