Apple’s iPhone 15 is expected to feature a revamped design, ditching the square look for a rounded rear edge and even a titanium chassis. After all, the rumored iPhone 15 Ultra might not be the only model with a titanium finish.
According to well-known leaker ShrimpApplePro on Twitter, “early information” suggests that the iPhone 15 series will feature a new bezel design with rounded back corners. This could be similar to the curved edges on the bottom of the 16-inch and 14-inch MacBook Pros, which means Apple could be moving away from the boxy look and flat design on the iPhone 14.
Interestingly, the whistleblower also claims that the iPhone 15 will have a titanium body. This is the same material used in the Apple Watch Ultra, which features a rugged design with better scratch and corrosion resistance and greater durability. Apple was said to have tested titanium on the iPhone, but it was too expensive to implement.
Previously, it seemed that only the rumoured Ultra models of the iPhone 15 series would get the titanium treatment, as the well-known Twitter feeder LeaksApplePro said on Twitter. Now, it could be the entire lineup. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the iPhone uses titanium instead of the usual aluminum and stainless steel, as the iPhone 14 Pro models have been suggested to have a titanium chassis.
The rumored iPhone 15 Ultra could also feature a titanium body, which means the first iPhone models to use the new material look more likely. However, as ShrimpApplePro puts it, this message is “too early to accept it,” so it’s best to take it with a grain of salt.
While it’s still a while, Apple’s 2023 iPhone lineup looks interesting. First, we might see a brand new iPhone 15 Ultra, and second, all iPhone 15 models are expected to get the newly launched Dynamic Island. What’s more, we also expect 2023 iPhone models to add USB-C ports instead of Lightning sockets, as the EU mandate will force Apple to include USB-C in its smartphones.
