Laptop batteries are used for a long time, and the support time is getting shorter and shorter. How to use the laptop battery correctly and “awaken” its potential to the greatest extent is the question most laptop users want to ask.
Mr. Fan, a computer expert, said that the gradual weakening of rechargeable batteries is inevitable, but due to the failure to master the correct method of use, the phenomenon of accelerated “aging” of batteries is also quite common, because rechargeable batteries have a memory effect. If you often keep the battery charged during use, and recharge it when the power is not exhausted, it may cause this phenomenon.
The correct way to use the laptop battery is to fully discharge it every once in a while, and then charge it to the maximum capacity. This maximizes the ability to “wake up” the sleeping part of the battery capacity. The way to fully discharge is to unplug the external power supply and only use the battery to supply power until the power is not enough to support the computer to start and run. The best time is to choose at night, which has sufficient time to discharge without affecting rest. But pay attention to eliminate the time setting of automatic shutdown.
Even then, there is no guarantee that the battery will be discharged to its minimum capacity, as a considerable amount of power is still required for normal operation. At this time, there is another way: restart the machine, press F2 after turning on the power, enter the BIOS setting interface (note: if you are not sure, do not change any settings at will), maintain this state until the power is insufficient and automatically shut down, then it can be fully discharged, because this This state consumes relatively little power.
In addition, Laptop battery let me introduce the six rules of maintenance:
- Carefully read the battery maintenance section of the user manual before using the laptop;
- When charging for the first time, you should charge the battery continuously for 12 hours, and fully charge and discharge 3 times in a cycle to fully wake up the new battery;
- If you use an external power supply for a long time, it is best to remove the battery. Many friends have not noticed this problem. Not removing the battery when using an external power supply not only affects the battery life, but also makes the heat dissipation burden of the notebook computer heavier, shortening the life of the notebook computer;
- Charge and discharge regularly. Even if there is a certain inert effect in a lithium-ion battery without a memory effect, if it is not used for a long time, the lithium-ion will lose its activity and need to be reactivated. Therefore, if you do not use the computer for a long time (3 weeks or longer) or find that the charging and discharging time of the battery is shortened, you should fully discharge the battery before charging it. Generally, it should be fully charged and discharged at least once a month.
- It is best to turn off the laptop when charging, so that the battery can be fully charged, and do not unplug the power supply in the middle of charging. Charging with power off will shorten the charging time by more than 30% compared with charging with power on, and it can prolong the service life of the battery. It is best to use it after charging for 30 minutes.
6.The charge and discharge times of lithium batteries generally do not exceed 800 times, and each charge will shorten its life. It is recommended that you use an external power supply as much as possible. If you need to plug and unplug the power supply many times during use, and the built-in battery of the laptop is not pulled out, the life of the battery will be greatly reduced, because each time the external power supply is connected is equivalent to charging the high quality laptop battery once.
