- Click the power button to restart your laptop
- Press the Esc key immediately after the system starts
- The boot menu will be displayed. Select System Diagnostics
- A list of components and diagnostic tests should appear. Choose battery test
- Replug the power cord
- Click the Start Battery Test option
After the laptop has completed the battery test, you will be able to see a status message such as OK, Weak, Calibrated, Very Weak, No Battery, Replaced, or Unknown. Remove your laptop battery; run your system on the AC adapter only; if it starts working perfectly, you know it’s your battery problem, not your system.
